Install Speechi

Hardware

1. To use Speechi, you need a PC (Pentium III at least) with 256 MB RAM.
   
   
   
   You don’t need to have a powerful computer. Most laptops or recent Tablet PC’s will do the job. We designed Speechi in order to be usable on-the-road.






2. A microphone plugged on your PC. The better the microphone, the better the recording.
   
   
   
   Microphones vary widely in quality and nature. For conferences with many speakers around the table, you need a multi-directional microphone. If you want to give a course in front of an audience, you should probably use a wireless tie-microphone such as this one. If you prepare a talk at home or at the office, a headset microphone will probably do. Speechi itself does not limit the quality of the sound and generates high-quality MP3, crisp-clear sound. The quality of the recording directly depends on your microphone capture.

Software

This is what you must have to use Speechi:

1. Windows 2000, 2002, XP or Vista operating system.
2. PowerPoint 2000, 2002, XP, 2003 or 2007 .

To take a look at – and to listen to – a Speechi presentation, you just need a browser with the Flash plug-in. This plug-in can be downloaded for free from http://www.adobe.com/fr/products/flashplayer. This plug-in is available for Windows, MAC, Unix, Linux users.

Installation

Speechi setup can be downloaded from our Web site : www.speechi.net. Demo versions are fully functional and free.

Double-click on setup.exe icon and follow instructions.

When the software has been installed, just launch PowerPoint. A new “Speechi” menu appears, with Speechi Studio and Speechi Conference commands. When you select those, a bar with 8 (Conference) or 12 (Studio) buttons appears in PowerPoint.
