How to change the default size of the video in Speechi ?

Poignée vidéo de Speechi 3.0

Speechi 3 gives users the possibility to synchronize their PowerPoint with a Flash video in just one click (this is the smart mode). The person watching the Speechi on the Internet can then change the video size live by just pulling the small handle located at the bottom right.

But, until now, this modification could only be done at viewing time. Every Speechi would appear with same “default” proportions for the video.

Speechi authors can now modify the Speechi default proportions - video colum and slide size. They can do this very easily.

Post synchronizing your existing videos with PowerPoint

Global Video ImportThe Smart Mode is the quickest way to synchronize a video with your PowerPoint, provided your video has been filmed while you were showing you Powerpoint (using Speechi) to your audience. In many cases, this is just not the case. For instance, you may have a video handy that was filmed some time earlier and now that you have heard of Speechi powerful video features, you want to show your video synchronized with your PowerPoint.

This tends to happen often in Universities where lots of classes have already been filmed - but of course the Powerpoint content as such has not been processed yet.

In this case, you should use Speechi Simple Import mode. Speechi Simple Import mode lets you quickly synchronize your video with each slide - and with each slide’s transition. It is not a "One Click" mode like the Smart Mode, however, it allows rapid and efficient video / PowerPoint post-synchronization.

It seems Tablet PC with "fixed and stable" screens are in the air

About 10 days ago, I was praising the new Acer Tablet PC design. Acer had teh very good idea, I think, to rigidly fix the Tablet screen to the PC when used in PC/keyboard mode, which greatly widens the use of the hardware (see why).

Speechi s’amĂ©liore grâce au Tablet PC Acer C200 / Speechi improves thanks to Acer C200 hardware

Speechi has been designed right from the start to be used with interactive whiteboards or Tablet PCs. On a Tablet, the stylet is used to movre from slide to slide (with the Speechi wheel) and to draw / record annotations over the PowerPoint slides.

I personnaly use an Acer C110 Tablet. It has a rotating screen and is almost perfect for me as a Tablet - but not quite so as a laptop:

- screen is really too small (10″4)
- it takes about 30 seconds to go from Tablet mode to laptop mode with the rotative screen. This is not short enough. When you begin using Tablet PCs, you soon realize that you need the laptop mode and the Tablet mode almost simultaneously. You constantly want to go from one mode to the other.

I have just talked to a customer today and it seems he got confused betwen the two modes. So I am just reposting this info.

On devient moderne, mĂŞme chez Speechi / At last, we become less old fashioned

Our Speechi Light software is free but we send a specific licence code to every user.

You may not believe it (it is actually even more incredible to US users - I believe) but so far we have generated 5000 codes MANUALLY (Simon and Amelie hate me for this !).

So now is D-day. We are back in the group of civilized software companies and Speechi Light codes can be generated online by our users (after downloading the software here).

A savoir:
